Wh Question for PSC

Ans :   1. Whom does Saikat live with ?  or,  With whom does Saikat live ?
            2. Who is he ?
           3. Where did he go ?
           4. Why did the man miss the train ?
           5. When will he come ?

Discussion about the answers.

For    answer 1. In present Indefinite Tense we have to use do/does after the wh-word. Mind it if the subject is 3rd person and singular number then we have to use does and for others do. When we use do/does then the principal verb must in present form.

For ans  2.  We have used Who to know about the man that is fire-fighter. Here in that sentence we need not do/does because here auxiliary verb  ' is ' is present.

For ans 3. Here We have used Where to know the place of his going. In that sentence is of Past Indefinite  Tense. so we have to use did just after Wh- word. and then principal verb must be in present form.

For ans 4. Here we have used Why to know the reason of his missing the train. We have also used did after the wh-word because it is the sentence of Past Indefinite.

For ans 5. Here we have used when to make question because we want to know the time of his coming. Here do/does/did is not necessary because here auxiliary verb  " will '  is present.

The Headmaster,
R.C.C. I. Public School and College
Rangpur.
Subject : Prayer for permission to go on a study tour.
Sir,
I, on behalf of the students of  class seven of your school, beg most respectfully to state that we are willing to go on a study tour at  Mainamati. It is a historical place. Monotonous   classes make our life dull  and boring. A study tour can relieve from this monotony. Moreover, a study tour will increase our knowledge. Two of our teachers have agreed to guide our team. It may kindly be added for your information that the group will consist of 15 members and we want to spend two days there. We think that we will need Tk. 3000/- each. We like to contribute Tk. 2500/- each and we will need Tk. 7500/- in addition to our contribution.
We, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to sanction Tk. 7500/- for the purpose and take necessary steps to make the tour successful.

The Headmaster,
R.C.C.I. Public School and College
Rangpur.
Subject : Prayer for increasing library facilities.
Sir,
I, on behalf of the students of your school, beg most respectfully to state that ours is a renowned high school in Rangpur city. There are nearly six thousand students in our school. Most of us are eager to learn more and more. Only the text books cannot satisfy our thirst for knowledge. So we want to gain knowledge by reading novels, poems, dramas, stories etc. But the books that we have in our library are inadequate. As such, we cannot get books according to our need and choice. Again, there is no particular room to be used as reading room.
Under the circumstances we, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to take necessary steps to enrich our library with different categories of  books  and provide us with a well furnished reading room.
Yours faithfully,

I have received your letter. I'm happy to know that you are well. I'm also fine. Today I'm writing you about a fixed price shop.
Yesterday I went to a fixed price shop with my mother. You can buy any stationery items here like pens, pencils, notebooks, in fact everything you need, for writing and drawing. You can also buy some food items like biscuits, bananas and some other necessary things. There are a number of benefits of this shop. You don't have to bargain or haggle with the shopkeeper over the prices of anything. You know that bargaining or haggling is very bad. In this way you may be cheated. Please visit soon to see the interesting shop.

Write a letter  to your friend describing the bad effects of smoking.
20 June, 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear friend,
I received your letter yesterday. I was glad to know that you are taking necessary preparations for the examination. At the same time I was very sad to know that you recently been addicted to smoking. It is as harmful as poison. There is a poison like nicotine in it which causes lung cancer, bronchitis, heart disease etc. It can be said that smoking is as like committing suicide.
So, I would like to advise you to give up smoking as early as possible. I hope that you will follow my advice and give up smoking from the moment you receive this letter.

Write a letter to your friend to be sincere and attentive to his study.

20 June, 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear friend,
It pains me much to know that you are often late at school. Your mother complained that you got up from bed very late because of your watching T.V. till late night. It is, of course, a very bad habit. It is the time to prepare yourself for the future. But if you are not punctual in your studies , you must suffer in future.
Punctuality is a great virtue. It is a key to success in life. But if you get up late, you will not get enough time to learn your lessons in time. As a result, you will not do well in the examination. You should do everything at the right time. A punctual student does not go to school late. He may not be sharp, but because of his habit of punctuality he will do better than many other bright students. So, I hope you will try to form and develop the habit of punctuality from now.
No more today. Convey my best regards to your parents and love to the youngers.
Yours ever
Ratan.

Write a letter to your younger brother describing the importance of physical exercise.
20 June, 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear friend,
Good wishes and love to you. I hope you are going on well with your studies. I came to know that recently you are not keeping in good health in spite of having good food. I think it is due to your aversion to take regular physical exercise. Physical exercise is essential for keeping in good health. It ensures a sound mind in a sound body. It takes our mind  away from evil works. It gives us fresh energy and helps us to work hard.
If you want to do well in the examination, you have to be physically strong. The man who is physically weak cannot achieve anything good in life. So, the sooner you realise the importance of physical exercise, the better it is for you.
No more today. Convey my best regards to parents and love to the youngers.
Yours ever
Ratan.

Write a letter to your friend about the necessity of planting more and more trees.
20 June 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur
Dear friend,
I have received your letter. Today I’m writing you about the necessity of planting more and more trees.
Trees are one of the most important gifts of nature and the most important elements of our environment.
The existence of life will be impossible if there were no trees. We get many fruits, other crops and vegetables from trees. By taking in carbon-dioxide and giving off oxygen in the air. So we must plant more and more trees for our own benefit.
No more today. With best regards to your parents and love to the youngers.

Dear friend,
I have received your letter. I’m happy to know that you are well. I’m also fine. Today I’m writing you about a picnic I have enjoyed.
We were 35 in number. Our English teacher Mr. Abdul Karim went with us as our guide. The venue was the Vinnajagot. We hired a bus and started for Vinnajagot early in the morning from our school campus. After reaching there, we set up our camp on the west bank of the big tank.
After having breakfast, we visited the place. There is a big canal which impressed us all. I caught fish in that canal. We returned to our camp after an hour. Then we cooked our food nicely and ate them with our hearts content. After taking some rest, we again went out to look at the other important sights of the place .  It was a memorable day but I missed you greatly.

I am quite well and hope that you are in good health. With love and good wishes,

 Yours ever,

Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear friend,
How are you ? I’m fine. You know that we get many leisure time. But we don’t spend the time properly. So, today I’m writing you about some good works that we can do around us.
Many people around us don’t know the importance of healthy life. So at first, we can tell the men about the merits of the use of sanitary latrine. Then we can tell them the rules of health and how to maintain a good health. Besides this, we can teach the illiterate adult people around us. Thus we can help the people to lead a happy and healthy life.

Write a letter to your cousin about some home remedies for common illness.
20 June 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur
Dear brother,
I have received your letter. I’m happy to know that you are well. I’m also fine. Today I’m writing you about some home remedies for common illness.
You know that people around the world are slowly changing their attitude towards medicine. More and more they are turning to natural cures. Natural cures are made of natural things. For a minor burn injury the doctor may prescribe you a tube of Burnol ointment. But for the same, a rural grandma may put some aloe vera or honey on it. If children have cold in our country, grandmas give them honey and tulsi leaves to eat. And it works too. If you have a minor cut or wound, grown-ups may put some turmeric, marigold or aloe vera on it. Rural people  use garlic, neem or turmeric to cure skin problems. These remedies work well. Moreover, they are easy to get, are cheap and most often without any side effects.

Write a letter to your friend describing how to form a morality shop.
25 June 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur
Dear friend,
How are you ? I’m fine. Today I’m writing you about a morality shop, where there will be no shopkeeper. The price of each item or things will be written on a small piece of paper. This price tag will be attached to the item or items. You will pick an item you like, look at the price tag and put the money in the box kept there. And the thing is now yours. In that case, someone may take a thing and go away without paying. But I think nobody will do it. If anybody does, it will be stealing. You may think who’ll see them stealing ? You know that there is something in our mind called conscience. It tells you whether your actions are right or wrong.
If anybody steals something then your conscience will tell you. So to be a good and happy person, you should have a clear conscience.
No more today. With best regards to your parents and love to the youngers.

Write a letter to your friend consoling him at his father’s/ mother’s death.
20 November, 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear friend,
I am deeply shocked to hear the sad news of your father’s/ mother’s sudden death. I can hardly believe that your father/mother is no longer among us. Whenever I close my eyes, his/her loving face appears before me. It’s a great loss to me also. He/she was so kind and affectionate to me that I couldn’t think him/her to be other than my own father/mother. I find no words to console you in such condition. His/her death reminds me once again that none can undo the decree of Allah.
What I can say is that you must not break down at this irreparable loss. His/ Her death has devolved upon you greater responsibilities. May Allah give you courage and fortitude to bear this tragedy. His/ Her soul may rest in peace.
Yours ever,
Miraj.

Write a letter to your younger sister advising her to serious/ punctual in her studies.
June 13, 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear sister,
It pains me much to know that you are often late at school. Mother complained that you got up from bed very late because of your watching T.V. till late night. It is, of course, a very bad habit. It is the time to prepare yourself for the struggle for existence in later life. But if you are not punctual in your studies as well as in other activities, you will not be able to prepare yourself.
Punctuality is a great virtue. It is a key to success in life. But if you get up late, you will not get enough time to learn your lessons. As a result, you will not do well in the examination. A punctual student may not sharp, but because of his habit of punctuality he will do better than many other bright students. So try to form and develop the habit of punctuality from now.
I hope that these few words of advice will show you  the right path. With love and  good wishes.

20 June 2015
Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear mother,
I have received your letter. You have wanted to know about my aim in life. So I’m writing you about it.
In future, I want to be a teacher. It is my aim in life. Reasons for my choice are very clear. I know education is light and knowledge is power. So people should be enlightened through education. Ignorance is similar to darkness. No society can make progress without education. A teacher can play a vital role in removing illiteracy and making people  aware and conscious of the curse of illiteracy. Above all, a teacher is the most honourable person in any society.
No more today. I hope that you will agree with me. Please pray for my better success.

Write a letter to your friend about the importance of learning English Language.

20 June 2015.
Shalbon, Rangpur.
Dear friend,
I have received your letter. I’m happy to know that you are well. I’m also fine. You have wanted to know about the importance of learning English Language. So, I’m writing about it.
Though English is our second language, its importance is no less than our mother tongue. It’s the only language through which anybody can communicate with anyone residing in any foreign countries.
Again, for higher education at home and abroad English is very essential, because the text and reference books on different branches of education are mostly written in English. We won’t be able to produce good teachers, doctors, philosophers, scientists if our students do not have sound knowledge of English. Further, the knowledge of English is still very essential in getting any good job. So I would like to advise you to learn English well.

Dear friend,

Man is a social being. He lives in a society with others. So he can not do whatever he likes. He has to obey certain rules. The obedience to these rules is discipline. Discipline is necessary in every sphere of life. Discipline in student life is strictly taught in schools and colleges. The students have to follow certain rules whether reading or playing. A well disciplined student life is a successful life. Following the discipline, the first and foremost duty in student life is to acquire knowledge. A student should remember that knowledge is power. He should read not only his text books, but also the books of famous writers to follow their discipline in life. He should read, play, go to sleep timely.
